1 lb hambuger meat
2 c shredded potatoes (squeezed dry)
1 to 2 TBS onion- grated

Mix together and form into patties. Fry until brown on both sides. Remove from pan and make a white gravy. Place patties back into gavy. Cook until gravy thickens. Serve with rice or mashed potatoes and biscuits. This was found in an old cookbook somewhere along the way. My family likes this because it is diffrent. Just make sure you squeeze the potatoes or use frozen hashbrowns.

Ooh, sounds good. I may try that next week while Joe's gone. Always looking for things Ty will eat when it's just the two of us and I think he'd like this.

I have made these with ground pork and ground turkey. I have also made a meat loaf out of the mix. The most important thing about the kitchen is just get in their and experiment. Just do not do it with baking or you end up with a big mess that way.

LOL Now you're talking my language. I NEVER follow a recipe, except in baking. Even then I usually make some adjustments. I love to cook and learned how to cook from my Grandma and Mom who use the handful and pinch methods.

That is me too. I collect recipes also and have thousands. All of them have been modified for my family. I am writing a cook book for an editor. The problem with that is I do not measure my biscuits or bread I go by texture and feel. But pop corn butter is a great way to baste them when coming out of the oven like they do at hardees.
